Abstract

This study aims to find out perception on reward and punishment given by English teacher. This research was conducted because the reseacher found several problems namely: some of the students have lack attention of teacher explanation, some of the students did not do the tasks given by teacher, some of the students tended to converse during learning process. This research was conducted in class VIII of MTs.TI.Candung. This research was a descriptive quantitative research. The population was 134 students and the sample was 55 students and purposive sampling was used as the research sample. Data was collected using a questionnaire. Data is done by identifiying respondents' answers, analyzing data and drawing conclusions. The result showed that students' perception of the reward given by teacher at MTs.TI.Candung on indicator giving point is 95,3%. It means that students had very good perception. In addition, the studnts' perception of the punishment given by teacher at MTs.TI.Candung on indicator punishment by reprimand is 86,4%. It means that students' had good perception.
